The Dangers of “Fetal Heartbeat” Bans

Since 2011, Republican-led state legislatures have used lies, propaganda and fake-science to introduce or pass so-called “fetal heartbeat” bans. It’s all part of a multi-layered strategy to chip away at people’s ability to make their own reproductive health care decisions and grant “personhood” to fertilized eggs, embryos and fetuses.

Their end-game? To challenge and ultimately overturn Roe v. Wade so that people no longer have safe, legal access to abortions.
